CLEMSON, S.C. - Trevor Booker had 15 points and 12 rebounds as Number 25 Clemson improved to 14-and-oh and continued on its best start in 20 years with a 67-57 victory over Georgia State on Sunday.
The Tigers are three wins shy of the school's best beginning when the 1986-87 club featuring Horace Grant opened 17-and-oh. Rivers added 13 for the Tigers, which open play in the Atlantic Coast Conference on Wednesday night at Florida State.
Leonard Mendez led Georgia State with 13 points. The Panthers leading scorer coming in, Lance Perique, was held to seven points, less than half his 15-point-eight per game average.
