The Georgia Tech women's basketball program got a couple of verbal commitments today from a pair of Liberty County juniors. Point guard Metra Walthour and center Nisha Adams have both decided to cast their lot with the Lady Yellow Jackets.
Walthour is the heart and soul of the Lady Panthers... averaging 25 points... 7 assists... 5 steals and 5 rebounds a game this season. She says she wants to be an engineer. That's one of the biggest reasons she chose Georgia Tech. The other big reason would be that Nisha Adams would be going along.
Adams averages 18 points... 11 rebounds... 5 blocks... 2 steals and 2 assists per game as the pair has helped the Lady Panthers compile a 9-3 record... Including a victory in the Brewton-Parker christmas tournament. Adams was named to the all-tournament team while Walthour was named the tournament mvp.
The two turned down offers from the Unversity of Georgia... L-S-U... Florida State... Vanderbilt... Maryland and Miami.
