STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) - Donte Gennie scored 25 points, including 7-of-8 from 3-point range, to lead Georgia Southern to an 89-68 victory over NAIA foe Pikeville College Tuesday night in Statesboro.
Louis Graham added 22 points for the Eagles (6-6), who jumped out to a 52-34 halftime lead after an 18-2 run over a stretch of four and a half minutes in the first half. Gennie scored eight and Graham six points during the run. Graham scored six more during a 19-to-4 streak in the second half that took the score from 58-41 to 77-45 with 11:29 remaining.
The Bears (8-8) outscored the Eagles 18-to-6 over the next eight minutes thanks to nine points from Bo Harris to cut the lead to 83-63 with 2:15 remaining. Harris led all scorers with 27 points and had 11 rebounds. Will Holloman scored 17 and had a team-high four assists for Pikeville.
