BATON ROUGE, La. - Sylvia Fowles' basket with 54 seconds remaining in the game gave sixth-ranked Louisiana State a 57-to-55 victory over 15th-ranked Georgia today.

With the score tied, Fowles had a shot blocked by Tasha Humphrey. However, Fowles kept possession and made the game-winning basket. The Lady Bulldogs then had two chances to score. On their first possession, Janese Hardrick missed a 3-pointer with the shot clock running out.

After LSU's Allison Hightower missed the front end of a one-and-one, Humphrey missed a driving layup with three seconds remaining. Fowles led the Lady Tigers with 20 points. Quianna Chaney added 15 points, while Hightower had a season-high 12 points.

Reserve Christy Marshall was the high scorer for Georgia with 12 points.
