Georgia Southern Survives Wofford

STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) - Donte Gennie scored 28 points to lead Georgia Southern to an 83-78 Southern Conference victory over Wofford Monday night in Statesboro. Gennie, a senior who scored his 1,000th career point in a 72-70 win over Furman on Saturday, was 10-for-14, including 3-4 from 3-point range, and hit 5-of-5 from the foul line to lead four Eagles in double figures.

Dwayne Foreman finished with 14 points, Louis Graham had 11 and 12 rebounds, Jimmy Tobias scored 11 and Kenith Ward 10 off the bench for Georgia Southern (9-6 overall, 2-2 SoCon), which led 49-40 at the half.

The Terriers (5-11, 0-5) were led by Eric Marshall's 33 points. Marshall was 11-for-14 from the field, including 3-3 from beyond the arc, and 8-8 from the free-throw line before fouling out. Shane Nichols added 21 points for Wofford.
