Defendants Found Guilty in Statesboro Standoff Case

A Bulloch County jury found Connie Brower guilty on all charges and Robbie Brower guilty of everything but assault.

The two held attorney Michael Hostilo captive a year ago. (See our report from last January, Statesboro Hostage Situation Resolved Peacefully.)

On the stand yesterday, Connie Brower said Hostilo became part of the drama, claiming they gave him a chance to leave, but he decided to stay.

She said they never wanted to hurt anyone. They just threatened with devices that looked like pipe bombs to get people's attention.

Prosecutors say that threat is enough.

The jury deliberated for about an hour yesterday before they decided to go home and start fresh this morning. WTOC has covered the case since the standoff and was in the courtroom again today.

Dal Cannady will have a full report tonight on THE News.
