Three students have a little extra cash in their pockets today thanks to their creativity.

Fifth grader, Laine Sharpley of Isle of Hope Elementary School received a $100 check from the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce for winning the Annual Red Ribbon Week Poster Contest.

Seventh grader, Sandra Alcantara of Shuman Middle School received a $50.00 check for her second place entry.

Third grader, Melynda Flowers of Garden City Elementary School, the third place winner, was awarded a check for $25.00.

The students created colorful posters using the Red Ribbon Week theme, "Real Life is Drug-Free."

The Red Ribbon Week Campaign is now the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation. It's celebrated in October each year.
