Gould Elementary School Celebrates Black History Month

They are wrapping black history month at at Savannah's Gould Elementary School.

Students and staff members spent the afternoon paying tribute to past and present African American leaders. Principal Dr. Ethel Bowles invited several guest speakers to talk to the students about the importance of black history month.

"There are black Americans who have made a difference people we have in our program today have made a difference it's not far removed. A lot of people we talk about are from long ago and we want boys and girls to see black history in the making," said Bowles.

Guests included Savannah State University, a graduate from Savannah Arts Academy, and a retired minister.
