Gunman Remains at Large in Savannah Multiple Shooting

Savannah-Chatham police are searching for a gunman who fired into a group of people, sending five to the hospital. Detectives tell us, around 8pm last night, employees of a clothing store at 43rd and Montgomery Streets were closing for the night when a man came from around the corner and began firing into a group of about seven people.

Ambulance crews rushed two women and three men to Memorial Health, four of them suffering from non-life-threatening wounds.

There were also reports of a man who had been hit multiple times, but detectives have not released his condition or the names of the wounded.

Detectives rounded up a group of witnesses for questioning and they also questioned those wounded in the shooting. Witnesses say the gunman was last seen speeding away from the shooting in a vehicle.
