A massive search for three teenaged boys in Hinesville has ended happily. The three boys, 13-year-old Phillip Welsh, 13-year-old Sammy Waters, and his brother, 16-year-old Cody Waters, were found Thursday morning at about 3:30am.
The parents tell police that on Tuesday around 1pm, the boys went into the woods off Live Oak Drive to play near a large hill that one of the boys had found earlier in the day. When the boys didn't show up for dinner, their parents grew worried because they said this was not typical behavior.
Phillip Welch has asthma and his parents weren't sure he took his medication with him.
The teens were spotted by the Georgia State Patrol helicopter equipped with heat-sensing instruments. They were checked over and reunited with their parents.
