Savannah-Chatham police are getting ready for the 183rd St. Patrick's Day Parade. Bars along River Street were open until 3am this morning, as the partiers prepared for tomorrow's parade.
Although the crowds will be much bigger tonight and tomorrow, thousands made their way to River Street and City Market last night.
Savannah-Chatham police have a command post set up so they can monitor any problems. For the most part, the partiers were peacefully enjoying themselves last night. There are many people here for the first time and others who have made the trip to Savannah for many years.
Of course, we saw plenty of green throughout the River Street and City Market area. This is gearing up to be one of the biggest St. Patrick's Day celebrations in the city's history and officials are making sure everyone knows the rules and regulations.
