Out of Towners Pack Savannah for Holiday

Green is everywhere, and the crowds are too. Folks from around the nation and world have descended upon Savannah for the St. Patrick's Day weekend.

"I've heard we won't have a better time than we will here," said Darcy Kresge from York, Pennsylvania. "And it will be a time to remember. That's what I'm looking forward to."

Kids are getting their first taste of the holiday, and many folks are tasting the sweet treats of the South.

Shrimp and ribs are more to some folks liking, and David Bradley and his crew has enough to feed an army. He hopes the entire squad shows up.

"They expect 500 thousand people," said David Bradley of Camden Fireplace and Grills Catering. "We expect at least 100 thousand of those people over here to buy our food."

"Its all about honoring our heritage," says Bob Childs of the Camden County New Jersey Pipes and Drum corps. "And the people who aren't Irish honoring our heritage as well. Just having a great time, that's what its all about. And honoring the heritage sometimes involves an occasional beer or two? Yeah, or three."

The Warehouse is honoring the holiday with a festival of drinks and fun. The people inside prove its never too early to start the party.

"Its a blast. It never ceases to amaze me," says Roger Wallace from Maryland. "I think what keeps me coming back is that I never remembers what he did, so I has to go back and try again."

Some of these out-of-towners decided this weekend was a great time to try a new look. From what we saw, green is definitely in this year.

With temperatures in the 60's expected for the holiday, the less clothing, the better.

"A lot different clothes than I'd wear up there," explained Darcy Kresge. "No hat, no gloves, sledding attire."
