A child has died in Glynn County after being struck by a truck on St. Simons Island. Glynn County police responded to the scene at the intersection of Riverview Drive and St. Catherine Street just before 7pm Tuesday.
Officers report 5-year-old Rachel Monetnegro had been struck while riding her bicycle by a UPS truck driven by Alan Rannow, 21, of Hortense, Georgia. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Glynn County Police Department's Traffic Division is investigating this accident. Anyone with information should call Officer Kevin Jones at 554.7800 ext. 5167.
