Police Search for Florida Man Ends in Dublin, GA

A Florida man on the run from Georgia authorities is finally behind bars tonight.

Michael Benjamin, 22, had been on the run from police since Tuesday night when he stole a collection jar full of money for the Liberty County football team from the El Cheapo off exit 67 on I-95. Police chased Benjamin to Jasper County, where he crashed the car he had allegedly stolen in Vero Beach, Florida, and fled on foot.

Liberty County Sheriff's deputies say Benjamin stole another vehicle and made his way to Dublin, Georgia. He was caught this afternoon after another chase with police, this time two police cars were wrecked. No injuries have been reported.

Liberty County authorities will head to Dublin tomorrow morning to interview Benjamin.
