Braves Win 2nd Straight in Extra Innings

(AP) - Scott Thorman's solo homer in the 11th inning lifted the Atlanta Braves to a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Brian McCann's two-run homer off closer Tom Gordon tied it at 2 in the ninth. Thorman then connected against Ryan Madson (0-2) with one out in the 11th.

Macay McBride (1-0) threw one pitch, retiring Ryan Howard on a grounder to second base to leave the winning run at third in the 10th.

Bob Wickman pitched a scoreless 11th for the save.

Braves recall Davies

The Braves also made a roster move before the game. They recalled right-hander Kyle Davies from AAA Richmond to replace injured pitcher Lance Cormier.

Davies likely will start against the New York Mets on Sunday.

Cormier, who has a strained right triceps, was placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 31st.
