Torched Car on Interstate 16 Raises Questions

There's a strange set of circumstances surrounding a car fire Wednesday night that shut down an on-ramp for Interstate 16. Around 10pm, a Garden City police officer saw the a car burning in the emergency lane.

The car was completely torched before firefighters arrived, and police shut down the westbound entrance ramp from Chatham Parkway.

Investigators say they'd been looking for this same car the night before for a civil matter. They believe the fire may have been arson.

Nobody was hurt, and the owner had not reported the car stolen.
