Effingham's Habitat for Humanity Collects Big Check

A big chunk of change for a good cause Thursday night.

Folks from the Seagrill Restaurant in Port Wentworth made a check presentation to the Habitat for Humanity of Effingham County: totaling some $4790.

The money was raised during the second annual Seagrill Golf Tournament, and Habitat organizers say events like that are vital.

"This is the lifeblood for Habitat for Humanity as far as our financial picture goes," explained Tim Johnson. "These kind of events, and these great people like here at sea grill, that's what fuels Habitat for Humanity."

Organizers of the tournament say it was a little too cold for a good day of golfing this year, and they're hoping to raise more next time around.
