With construction work underway on the McTeer Bridge in Beaufort County, South Carolina DOT officials are announcing new open times for the bridge.
Effective Thursday, May 10, the McTeer Bridge will be open for traffic from 6am until 10am and from 2pm until 6:30pm.
The closure at other times is to allow crews to continue repairs on schedule. During those times, all traffic will use the Woods Bridge.
With permission from the US Coast Guard, the opening of the Woods Bridge for boat traffic will be changed from 10:15am to 9:15am, eliminating any bridge openings for boats during the four-hour period the McTeer Bridge is closed during the middle of the day.
Motorists are urged to be careful and to pay attention to law enforcement, and watch out for future changes which may become necessary.
