The Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort is welcoming a new senior enlisted advisor to the Air Station's Commanding Officer.
In a special ceremony Friday, the base's 26th Sergeant Major, Sergeant Major Anthony Franks relinquished his post. During his time at the base, he helped improve housing and quality of life for his marines and sailors. Today, the Sergeant Major also officially retried after 30 years in the Corps.
"Today, it's a bittersweet day because I love the Marine Corps, but I know I have to hand the baton over to the younger guys to take on our nation," said Sgt. Maj. Franks.
Sgt. Maj. Carter will now take over as the Air Station's Sergeant Major.
