Have you or someone close to you ever been in need of a transplant? Every year millions of people in the world are in need of an organ transplant.
Dozens of people including Lifelink representatives made their way out to the Marsh Auditorium at Candler Hospital to get educated, become aware and hear personal testimonies of transplant recipients. One keynote speaker was professional snowboarder, Chris Klug. He spoke of his own experiences of needing and receiving a life-saving liver transplant.
"I want to really encourage people to consider the message of organ donation awareness and to encourage those that may be facing any medical adversity in their lives not to give up and keep the faith," said Klug.
Klug plans on returning next year on the snowboard world cup circuit for his 17th season and he wants to participate in one more Olympics in 2010 in Vancouver.
