Blood Supply Low, Red Cross Needs Your Help

The American Red Cross says Georgia's blood supply, especially types O and B are dangerously low. That's why they're asking you to roll up your sleeve and donate blood or platelets.

The red cross blood center on Tibet Avenue in Savannah is extending it's hours. Starting today, they'll be open Monday through Thursday from 10am to 7pm, Fridays from 8am to 4pm and Saturday from 8am to 3pm.

The American Red Cross Blood Services, Southern Region needs approximately 1,200 people to donate blood each weekday to meet the needs of hospital patients.
