Georgia Southern players and coaches talked with reporters from across the Southeast as part of the annual Southern Conference Media rouser in Greenville Tuesday.
The rouser gives coaches a chance to talk about their key players, their team's chances and their upcoming opponents.
Just like last year, the Eagles are the conference mystery with a new coach and a new offense.
Rivals like Furman and others wonder what they'll face in the Eagles.
But Eagle coach Chris Hatcher and his players say their hopes remain simple.
"We want to win one game a week, that's our goal," says Hatcher. "That's all they'll let us play. If we can win one a week, then when all's said in done we can reach our ultimate goal to be national champions."
"We want to come out like Appalachian State and be national champs," says Jayson Foster, Eagles Wide Reciever. "But it's gonna take a lot of hard work to get there. With our seniors, that's our mindset and that's our goal coming into this season.
Two-time defending national champs Appalachian State is the preseason pick to win the conference again.
The Mountaineers got all seven of the possible first place votes.
Furman and Wofford took the 2nd and third spots in the preseason poll.
The GSU Eagles are picked to finish fourth.
