Shortstop Colby May of South Effingham High School has given a verbal commitment to play baseball at the University of Georgia. May was also the Mustangs closer and Monday was the first day of his senior year at South Effingham.
May helped guide the Mustangs to the Georgia AAA quarter-finals last spring... and played for Team Georgia this summer. South Effingham coach Tony Kirkland grades his players on a point system... and the last two years was the only 100-point player on the team.
With Team Georgia... May spent 12 days at a tournament in Oklahoma... and after that made up his mind to play in Athens.
