The temperatures may not seem like fall, but football season is right around the corner.
One sure sign of the season is the annual meet the fans day for the Georgia Southern Eagles.
Eagles and more Eagles packed the Bishop Field House as fans collected autographs from their favorite players or the whole team.
Despite a disappointing three and eight season last year, fans turned out in near record numbers Saturday.
Players say they've put last year behind them to focus on new head coach Chris Hatcher.
The Head Eagle says the response adds even more excitement.
"It's very pleasing if you will to have this many people show up," smile Hatcher. "Sometimes, if you have these and nobody shows up, you leave disappointed. Our players and coaches have to leave today feeling like the excitement is back in Georgia Southern football."
The Eagles start the season at home against West Georgia in three weeks.
