Three Men Arrested Following Armed Robbery

Savannah-Chatham police may have captured three men wanted in connection with an armed robbery.

About 3am Monday, a man tells police he was leaving the Waffle House restaurant on Ogeechee Road and getting ready to get into his car. He says three men got out of a light blue mini van and says all three men had scarves or T-shirts wrapped around their faces and at least one had a gun.

They demanded money from the victim and also took his car keys and cell phone then sped out of the lot on Ogeechee Road toward Savannah.

The man who was robbed was not injured.

Then less than an hour later, police patrolling spotted a van matching the description of the robbers'. After calling for backup, they pulled the van over on Ogeechee Road on the Stiles Avenue overpass.

There were three men in the van and a large handgun.

The men were detained while detectives and forensics officers were called out to gather evidence and interview the men. All three were later arrested on armed robbery charges stemming from the earlier robbery.
