The players are ready for some football

Senior Running Back, Lamar Lewis can't wait to play a game. "We're ready to go play on Saturday. We've been waiting a long time and now it's time to go play."

The coaches it seems like have been waiting forever for this day.

Head Coach Chris Hatcher says, "it's going to be fun, we're looking forward to a big night and hopefully the team will take care of their part of this operation."

And it's safe to say the entire Georgia Southern community is ready for some football.

Leslie E. Spoon heads up the Georgia Southern Spirit Committee, "Everybody is so ready for football season. We got to Georgia Southern University, that's what we are, we are a football school."

Spoon adds, "Everybody is so excited to see the Hatch attack, all the players are excited, this is a new era of Eagle football."

An Eagle freshman fan adds, Ii'm a freshman and I'm lovin' it, I'm lovin' it!"

In less than 24 hours from now, Georgia Southern will kick off the 2007 season at home against West Georgia and the anticipation and excitement, in one word, deafening.

Among the cheers, the shouts and the singing, GSU President Dr. Bruce Grube stepped up to the WTOC microphone, "This is good, it's Fall, there's a coolness starting to creep in the air and it's time for Georgia Southern Football."
