Rear Admiral Fox Talks Via Satellite on Troop Surge

Our Third Infantry Division soldiers are in the middle of an operation in Iraq, leading the way in Operation Marne Husky.
General David Petraeus is at Fort Benning, preparing to present an Iraq progress report to Congress on Monday. He's expected to recommend a gradual troop withdrawal this spring.
We spoke with Rear Admiral Mark Fox via satellite today who says the additional troops are doing the job.
"We've always known though that the surge is a temporary measure, it's not something that would be sustained indefinitely," said Fox. "So the time and the place that the troops will be reduced to a sustainable level is still to be determined. I'm sure that General Petraeus will be talking about that, but I think it's really important that we preserve the hard fought gains that our troops have achieved over here."
Admiral Fox says unlike others, Petraeus' report comes from people who actually live and work in Iraq on a daily basis.
