Georgia Southern moves to 2-0 on the season with a 42-34 win over Coastal Carolina. Of those 42 points you see on that board, 36 of them came from Jayson Foster.
Senior quarterback Jayson Foster says, "they played a lot of man coverage, a lot of 6 on 6 or 7 on 6 so we had to make one guy miss. And we played better than they did for a little while, they had good athletes but we came out there and outplayed them."
Senior Offensive tackle, Russell Orr, "we had mistakes like last week that we have to correct. We will try to sure these things up but we came out that second half and in the 4th quarter we put them away."
DB, Chris Covington says, "give credit to our offense. They outscored them and we played hard on defense and we gave up a couple of big plays and made a few mental lapses and didn't tackle well but in the end you stop them one more time than they stop you and you win, it's a good feeling."
And thanks to #4 and the rest of the Eagle squad, Georgia Southern is 2-0 to start the season for the first time since the 2001 season.
Covington says, "Every team wants to come out and have a fast start, it's the first time in a couple of years, we've been 2-0 in awhile, and coach says you can't win them all unless you win the first one so winning the first two, it's a real nice step."
Georgia Southern is 2-0 they'll look to move to 3-0 next weekend when they host Chattanooga at Paulson Stadium. It's a big game because it's their conference opener.
