Top Teen--Cameron Brown

Cameron Brown Cameron Brown

He is the Savannah-Chatham school district's student of the month and is getting a lot of attention for that, and a whole lot more. Cameron Brown is a senior Johnson High School. He's in all honors classes and throughout his academic career has maintained an A average.

"I just try and do the best I could do and if I don't get good grades grades, I can't go to college," he said.

Well it doesn't look like Cameron will have much of a problem, he has won several awards for his academic performance.

"I am taking all college classes," Cameron said.

English teacher Cindy Schroder says Cameron is always prepared for class.

"I have a project he made in ninth grade. It's a globe theater and I use it all the time as a demonstration even four years later," said Schroder.

Cameron is also very busy after class. He is on the basketball team and finds time to run around three miles a day for cross country.

"I see him with books all the time and so he stays well organized," said Coach Keith Arrington. "When he gets spare time he is usually studying."

Just this week, Cameron was recognized by superintendent Dr. Thomas Lockamy for his ability to balance both extracurricular activities and a high grade point average.

So, it's no surprise that he is this week's WTOC Top Teen.

"He's going to do good at whatever he does, or what school he goes to," said Arrington. "He is a credit to our school and to the Savannah community."

"I feel proud of myself and a lot of people deserve this award," said Cameron. "I'm glad they recognized me."
