Suzanne Yoculan to Retire

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Georgia gymnastics coach Suzanne Yoculan plans to coach two more seasons before turning the program over to assistant coach Jay Clark.

Georgia athletic director Damon Evans announced Yoculan's retirement plans Wednesday. Evans said Yoculan, who has won eight NCAA team championships, "has done a remarkable job in her 25 years at UGA."

The Gym Dogs have won the last three NCAA championships. Yoculan also has coached 15 Southeastern Conference Championship teams and 19 NCAA Regional Championship teams. Georgia gymnasts have won 31 NCAA individual championship under Yoculan.

Yoculan said she remains "just as passionate" as ever and is comfortable stepping down with the program in a position to maintain excellence. She noted that team has a new workout facility and said the foundation is set for future success.
