Eagles Prepare for the Citadel

The Appalachian State game is in the books, and it's time for Georgia Southern to move on....The task at hand, sending the Bulldogs of the Citadel to the dog house.

Chris Hatcher says, "Our guys understand the importance of the game. It was a big emotional win on Saturday, we need to put that behind us and build off of it and take care of the Citadel on Saturday."

How big of a game is this? The Citadel sits a-top the SOCON standings at a 3-1 clip in the conference.

Hatcher says, "They have an explosive offense and a great defense. They lead in every category in the conference as far as statistics go."

This weekend it's homecoming for GSU and the fact that the Eagles are back home after two grueling road trips bodes well for the home team.

Hatcher says, "We should have a big crowd. We like playing day games. We're looking forward to it, it's another opportunity to play and hopefully we'll improve like we did going into the app state game. And if we can continue to do that and the ball bounces our way, who knows, we may find ourselves at the top of this thing when all is said and done."

The Citadel's head coach, Kevin Higgins says, "Playing down there is always a challenging place. We know they're a talented team and we'll have to play our best."
