National Signing Day

This was a day to remember for college sports fans.   Seven area youngsters signed scholarships today to D-1 schools... including 5 for basketball.

We begin at Fort Stewart where point guard Metra Walthour... the WTOC Player of the Year last season... and center Nisha Adams signed with Georgia Tech.

At johnson high school... Toby veal of the atomsmashers signed a scholarship to play basketball at the unversity of colorado.   He tells us why he chose to go so far away from home... To beautiful boulder, colorado.

In swainsboro... Forward tony mitchell put his name on the dotted line... And will play college basketball at alabama.   Mitchell... The tigers leading scorer... He likes the school and their basketball program.

At urban christian academy... Basketball star cashmere wright signed a scholarship to attend the university of cincinnati.   Wright has dominated play the last three years for urban christian... And now wants to take his game to the big stage.

At st. Andrew's... Swimmer kelsey winters signed her scholarship to attend auburn university.   Winters... Who will swim the butterfly in the olympic trials this summer... Will study pre-med at auburn.

At effingham county high school... Marie fogle... A wendy's high school heisman nominee... Signed a softball scholarship to play at georgia southern.   She is an all-around athlete who has been playing summer softball with a travel squad.
