Nebraska Hires Pelini From LSU

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska's old football coach has found its new one.

Interim athletic director Tom Osborne has hired LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini to replace Bill Callahan, who was fired following Nebraska's second losing season in four years. Osborne chose the 39-year-old Pelini over Buffalo coach Turner Gill, a former starting Nebraska quarterback.

Pelini spent one year with the Huskers, coaching under Frank Solich (SOH'-lihch) in 2003. Pelini became the interim head coach when Solich was fired after the regular season, leading Nebraska to victory in the Alamo Bowl.
