SAVANNAH, GA--Millions of toys have been recalled because of dangerous levels of lead. Have you gotten your Christmas gift yet? If so, are you sure the toys you bought are safe?
The Chatham County Health Department wanted to make sure folks in the Coastal Empire were handing out safe toys this Christmas. Dozens of people came out to the Environmental Health Office to have a certified lead specialist test toys for lead levels. Great Grandmother Gloria Zeigler took advantage of this free screening because she feels her great granddaughter is well worth it.
"I had purchased this little toy for my great grand baby that lives in Maryland and I decided that I should come out this morning and make sure it had no lead before I shipped it to her," said Zeigler.
The Chatham County Health Department says their next lead screening will be held next Saturday from 8am to noon at the same place.
