SAVANNAH, GA--Many of our military men and women are hard at work fighting for our country overseas.

Thousands of Third ID soldiers from our area won't be home in time for the holidays. In fact many of them are so committed to fighting for our county, that they have just recently re-enlisted.

Today on Mid-Morning Live, we talked with Third ID Chief of Staff Col. Mark Mcknight live via satellite from Iraq who says he's glad to see that so many soldiers are committed to serving our country.

"Well the division is doing very well. I just came from a mass re-enlistment ceremony where we re-enlisted 267 soldiers who recommitted themselves to serving our country," said Col. Mcknight. "That was quite an inspiring event. Especially here during the holidays season. and as you said being separated from family and friends is quite inspiring to attend that ceremony."

The division is currently starting a new operation called Operation Marne roundup. The group will work along side Iraqi security forces to prevent accelerant attack into Baghdad and against coalition forces.
