DAVIDSON, N.C. (AP) - Davidson sophomore Stephen Curry had 24 points to surpass 1,000 for his career in the Wildcats 92-67 victory over Georgia Southern Thursday night.
Curry, the son of former NBA standout Dell Curry, became the second-fastest to 1,000 points in school history. He reached the milestone with a pair of foul shots 4:06 to go that gave Davidson (5-6, 3-0 Southern Conference) its largest lead of the game, 86-54. Curry also had 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks.
Thomas Sander added 18 points and seven rebounds for the Wildcats. Jason Richards finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds for Davidson.
Julian Allen led Georgia Southern (9-4, 2-1) with 21 points and 10 rebounds. No one else for the Eagles reached double figures in scoring.
The victory was the 1,200th for Davidson, which is celebrating its 100th season of basketball this year.
