The boys of Portal beat Savannah Country Day 61-58. Portal is now 19-1 on the season and 10-0 in region play. David Buchannon led the Panthers with 17 points.
Meanwhile Country Day's girls team improved to 18-2 on the year. Katherine Dotson and Melissa Burkhamer both had 16 points in the Lady Hornets 52-25 win.
Calvary travelled to Claxton and came home a winner 69-59. Bubba Green and Cody Padgett each had 25 in the Cavalier victory.
WTOC Player of the Week Katie Covington poured in 24 as the Calvary girls team defeated Claxton 77-27.
Jefferson County topped Metter 52-49.
It took overtime, but Windsor Forest prevailed over Benedictine 54-51. Thomas Trawick led Windsor with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
Windsor Forest's girls team wasn't as lucky, they lost to St Vincent's 32-30.
Statesboro travelled to Savannah, and left a winner 63-55.
Mo Bennett scored 33 points as Statesboro's Lady Devils defeated Jenkins 50-39.
Swainsboro beat SE Bulloch 62-54, Tony Mitchell had 23 points for the Tigers.
The Lady Tigers of Swainsboro also walked away winner, 36-28 over SE Bulloch. They are now 8-8 on the season, 6-3 in the region.
Bethesda hits the road and routs Twiggs Academy 94-36.
John Williams lead MCA to a 56-45 victory over Jeff Davis. He had 20 points in a winning effort.
MCA's girls team also won 56-42.
First Presbyterian defeats Memorial on the road. Mike Brown had 21 to lead the Highlanders to a 78-51 win.
Memorial's Lady Matadors got a big win 47-19 over First Presbyterian.
Groves' boys team defeated Effingham County 85-60.
A foul call with only 9 seconds left made the difference as Savannah high loses their first game of the season. Mundy's Mill wins it 71-69.
