Celebrating Earl Johnson's Life

3rd Street, Garden City. 3rd Street, Garden City.

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Hundreds of people gathered Monday on 3rd Street in Garden City to remember their friend Earl Johnson, who died in the Imperial Sugar explosion.

There were so many people that cars couldn't even get down 3rd Street. They all said Johnson was a caring man and he will be greatly missed.

"This is just an outpouring of love for my brother," said Johnson's brother, Dwight Johnson of Memphis. "As you can see there's lots and lots of people, they've just come to support the family."

Dwight Johnson talked about what he's been going through since he heard the news that his brother died. "It just tore my whole world up. I haven't been the same since. It's been quite a shock. It's going to take me a while to recover from it but with God's help I hope to."

Dwight Johnson said the number of people that showed up just reflects how many people's lives Earl Johnson touched.
