SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Do you like Girl Scout Cookies? Well, some soldiers will be getting boxes and boxes of them very soon thanks to a group of very caring and dedicated students at Beach High School.

Students in the Future Educators of America club at Beach High wanted to do something nice for the military. So with the help of their Early Childhood teacher Keasha Burgess, who's husband is deployed right now, they came up with the idea of sending boxes of Girl Scout cookies and personal thank you notes to his unit in Iraq.

Ieshia Boston and Brittany Graham are two students very involved in the project. "Let them know we miss and care about them and pray each and every day that they come home," said Graham.

Burgess' husband Chalmus Burgess just left for Iraq last week, and she appreciates what these students are doing for the soldiers and really for those families members left behind, like her.

"When we see them doing this that they care about doing this it shows that they care and do see us as human beings and seeing what we are going through," said Burgess.

And the students are glad to do it. "They have fought so hard for us and supported us so many times would be good idea to send them cookies and thank you cards," Boston. "We feel like we should fight for them and take time and send out stuff to them."

Students are trying to collect 150 boxes, so every soldier in the unit gets at least one box of these sweet treats.

The students are collecting the cookies until the end of March, so you still have some time to bring a box to Beach High School.
