Authorities may never find out what caused a Savannah carriage house to explode, and the man living in the apartment has died.
Carl Eunice initially survived the blast, and was rushed to the Augusta Burn Center with burns over 60 percent of his body. He died on Sunday.
The explosion left nothing but a pile of rubble. The Savannah Fire Department said it appeared to be a natural gas leak. The house was deemed a safety hazard to investigators, and had to be demolished. With the demolition, all clues to what caused the explosion were lost.
