Radio Show Helps in Search for Killer

The plea went out over the radio last night. WSOK radio host Van Johnson started his talk show asking people to help find whoever killed Dorothy Stevens.

The 61-year-old Stevens was leaving church Sunday afternoon when a car hit her car from behind, on Victory Drive near Burroughs, slamming her into a palm tree and some parked cars. Stevens died at the scene. The other driver took off. Johnson wants people to come together to find her killer.

"Somebody out there knows what happened," said Johnson. "Somebody witnessed it. Savannah is a very small community, and we just want somebody to come forward so this family has some sort of closure."

Investigators think the man was hurt in the wreck. If you know who he is or anything else about the accident, call CrimeStoppers at 234-2020.
