SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The south has a lot to offer when it comes to history and culture and a new magazine aims at inviting people to come and enjoy it.

The African American Heritage Guide was unveiled on October 16 in downtown Savannah. The first issue features Savannah's own legendary jazz musician Ben Tucker.

The magazine is being introduced in hopes of getting more African Americans interested in touring the state.

Tucker says he is proud to be part of this new venture.

"I look up a couple weeks ago and here I am on the front cover," said Tucker. "I said now how did they do that? Talking about legendary Ben Tucker. I'm just happy to be here and happy to be involved and happy to be a part of the great economic impact that is has on Savannah."

The magazine is produced by the Georgia Department of Economic Development and Atlanta Magazine.
