The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation (LMDC), a cooperation between the New York Mayor's office, the New York State Governor's office and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, unveiled six possible designs for rebuilding the World Trade Center site. The LMDC will hold meetings in the five boroughs of New York and in New Jersey to gather feedback about the designs.
Port Authority Executive Director Joseph J. Seymour said, "The Port Authority believes strongly that the future of the World Trade Center site must be shaped by the insights of people throughout the region. The tragedy of September 11 affected us all, and all must have an opportunity to help shape plans for remembrance and rebuilding."
While it is unclear whether the final design will come from one these six concepts, they are the first look at the possible future for the WTC site.
