Vendors setting up Southern Women's Show

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The 6th annual Savannah Women's Show will be kicking off Friday at 10 am. Nearly 300 exhibitors were at the Savannah Trade and Convention Center setting up their booths which will be on display from Friday, February 6 to Sunday, February 8.

The show is a one-stop shop for women, featuring home decor, medical help, make overs, cooking shows and fashion shows. The event is sure to be a success.

Show manager Elisha Jernigan says, "Things are moving along.  All the exhibitors are coming in and unloading."  She adds, "I think women really want to treat themselves.  You take care of your job, you take care of your kids.  You take care of your family and sometimes there is not enough time to care of yourself.  This is a great day to come out, have fun, take of you you, grab a couple girlfriends and just have a fun day."

Celebrity guests include "Junk Market Gal," Sue Whitney, Ruby's trainer Reese Brown, Slimsuit designer Carol Wior and singer Matt Martino.  There will also be a number of featured chefs.

Guests are welcome to window shop or try out new products and services and consult with experts in many fields.  Also, there will be registration of prizes and give-aways.

Each year, the show features a charity outreach.  This weekend a firefighter fashion show with the Southside Fire Department will be held in the name of the Southeast Burn Foundation.  The foundation was established in January 1998 to develop innovative programs and services to support recovery from and prevention of burn injury.
