City Council agrees on Saint Patrick's Day changes

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - City Council has come to an agreement on the proposed Saint Patrick's changes and are set to vote on those changes later today.

They've agreed to get rid of the gates on River Street, but wristbands will stay. Revelers will have to get wristbands at kiosks that will be set up at all the entrances onto River Street.

Vendors will stay, but will be on a priority basis. River Street businesses will get first priority followed by the city, then the county and if any spots are still available, outside businesses.

However, there will only be two or three slots for food vendors and two or three slots for beer vendors.

Finally, they've decided to let bars stay open until their normal times on Saint Patrick's Day.

City Council is expected to vote on these changes today at 2pm. We have a crew following this story and we'll have all the latest details coming up tonight on THE News.
