SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Port of Savannah has achieved a record.
The port authority says they moved more container cargo in October than any other month in its history. Moving close to 414,000 twenty-foot equivalent container units.
If you laid that many containers end to end, you'd have a line long enough to go from Florida to Maine.
The ports say containerized trade at the Port of Savannah has increased by 8 percent for the fiscal year to date.
