SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Mostly dry but warm this evening after a record-breaking afternoon across the Lowcountry and Coastal Empire. Savannah reached a new record high of 83°, breaking the previous record of 79°.

A few light showers north of I-16 are possible overnight, otherwise we will remain dry with morning lows in the lower 60s. We’ll be mostly cloudy with a few scattered showers developing after lunchtime, but most of us will miss out on seeing raindrops on Wednesday. It also won’t be as warm with highs in the mid 70s inland and upper 60s along the coast.

Scattered showers return Thursday evening with a thunderstorm or two possible on Friday. After closing the work week out on a damp note, we will dry out for the weekend. Morning lows fall near 50 degrees Saturday morning with highs in the lower 60s.

Sunday morning will be the coolest out of the next week with temperatures in the low to mid 40s.
