SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - At the start of every new year, our former General Sales Manager, Randy Peltier would change his route into work. He felt by driving a different way, it would change his perspective and give him a fresh start to each new year.
When the clock struck midnight on 2018, this new year brought an incredible new path for WTOC. Our parent company Raycom Media was purchased by Gray Television, an Atlanta based company with its original roots sprouting from Albany, GA.
When the deal closed last week, this television station became a part of the third largest broadcast group in the country. But Gray Television isn’t just about mass, it is also about a commitment to quality.
Consider this: Next month WTOC will celebrate its 65th anniversary as this region’s preeminent television station.
And through those six and half decades, whether we were owned by the Knight Family, Aflac, Raycom or now Gray, our commitment to serving this community has been, and will continue to be unwavering.
So, no matter what copyright you see at the end of our newscasts, you can rest assured, our mission isn’t changing nor is the inclusive foundation of what we stand for – WTOC – Welcome To Our City.
