SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - High pressure to the south is pumping in warmer air but with more clouds and some showers streaming in as well that will eventually cross I-16 from Vidalia and Baxley into Statesboro and Metter and Swainsboro. A passing shower can’t be ruled out in all our cities.
Sparse showers during the overnight hours and we only cool to mid to low 50s across the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry for Saturday morning. We start pretty cloudy but get some clearing and warm to the upper 60s along the islands and low 70s away from the immediate coast. It’ll also be breezy in the afternoon ahead of the storm line; some gusty winds up to 30-35mph after dark.
The cold front will move through the area Saturday night with it quickly sweeping offshore Sunday morning. Widespread showers are likely with most areas picking up 0.25-0.50″. There’s even a chance of some coastal thunderstorms.
Cooler, drier conditions expected from late Sunday morning through Monday. Breezy conditions will develop as well. Highs on Sunday will be in the 50s while Monday will only be in the 40s.
Next cold front comes with rain likely Wednesday evening into Thursday.
