SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah Police have made an arrest in the accidental shooting of a three-year-old child at a home in Yamacraw Village, Thursday afternoon.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting around 4:45 p.m. and found the little boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm. The child, who was in the care of two adult relatives when the shooting happened, was transported to a hospital. He is in stable condition.
Detectives say the shooting happened inside the home. Twenty-one-year-old Dyanta Samuels, who was one of the relatives watching the child, has been arrested in connection to the shooting. Police say the suspect was holding the gun at the time of the shooting.
